Semiha Adsız (b. June 30, 1997, Cyprus) is a Cypriot artist working in painting, mural and public art. She completed her art education at the high school, undergraduate and graduate levels, and has carried that academic grounding into public space, believing that art should exist not only in galleries but within people's everyday lives. She currently works as a visual arts teacher at Polatpaşa Lisesi, and alongside that, transforms public spaces through the murals she creates across different regions of Cyprus. She has also taken part in numerous group exhibitions in various countries.

Her graduate research focused on sound installation and relational aesthetics in contemporary art after 1990. The core aim of that research was to observe and make visible, through artistic practice, how memory is triggered through sound. She believes sound is not merely an auditory element but a powerful carrier of memory that stirs the subconscious. Within this framework, she has aimed to help people re-feel emotions they are unaware of, have forgotten, or have never experienced, and in doing so, to raise their level of awareness. Because this approach is capable of affecting both individual and collective memory at once, it has become an area she pays particular attention to.

At the center of her art practice lies the relationship between people, memory, nature and public space. Her work focuses especially on the world of children, the right of animals to life, and Cyprus' cultural heritage. To her, art is not merely a form of aesthetic expression; it is a powerful language of communication that builds awareness, provokes thought, and invites people to reconnect with the world they live in.

Her undergraduate thesis project focused on marine ecosystems, concentrating her research on the biodiversity and unknown life forms of the Mariana Trench. That process deepened her curiosity about nature's unseen layers; the fragility of life, ecological balance, and humanity's relationship with nature became fundamental building blocks of her artistic outlook.

Her core aim in the work she produces today is not simply to confront the viewer with an image, but to offer them an experience that makes them question the world they live in anew. Her murals, canvases and work across different disciplines bring together humanity's existence, collective memory, the responsibility to protect nature, and the concept of hope within a shared narrative. She believes that, especially in her public-space projects, art is a transformative force that can build connection between people, strengthen the identity of the place it inhabits, and contribute to collective memory.

For Semiha Adsız, art is not just about depicting what is seen; it is about making the unseen felt, and reminding people of the bond they have with themselves and their surroundings. With every new work, she invites the viewer to look more closely, to feel more deeply, and to develop a greater sense of responsibility toward the world we live in.
